IGNITE Trip to SAP Concur, November 6th
When we arrived at SAP Concur, we were greeted by the amazing volunteers who work there and students were broken into groups for activities.
Each volunteer was so happy to work with us and my students got a strong feeling of support and excitement about their jobs. The facility was beautiful and also encouraged this feeling. At the end of the tour students were provided lunches and sat in a U-shape around a panel of extraordinary women. This was the coup de grace in that each and everyone of my students was affected by the speakers. They chose an exceptional panel of women of different backgrounds who had impassioned speeches that had students coming back to school talking about the time they had to their friends.
We have been on three trips so far and it is always wonderful to see women excel in these types of careers. It is truly a gift being able to hear their stories and how they got to where they are now.
I am so glad that I was a part of this experience. I have told so many other teachers about IGNITE since this experience and I hope my students have this opportunity or an opportunity like this again.
