Hi All,
We had a fabulous event today with amazing people from all around the world who do such important work with students, particularly girls.
IGNITE has worked with the International Visitors Program: World Affairs Council for over 8 years. IGNITE holds workshops for visiting delegations who are interested in educating girls about STEM focused careers. IGNITE is a program that can be replicated and scaled anywhere in the world, so it makes a great fit for any educator or community leader wishing to inspire girls in their communities about STEM careers. There was a great amount of interest today in pursuing a relationship with IGNITE and using the program. We are excited to re-connect with these delegates when they get home and will report back on any IGNITE chapter development that takes place in the near future.
It was such an honor to meet and hear about the work these women do at home in their communities. I am happy to say that they were very interested in pursuing how they can integrate IGNITE into their current schools and programs. The participants asked such insightful questions! It was indeed my honor to meet such inspirational women and hear about their work and challenges. I look forward to beginning our work together and having more chapters around the world.
I want to thank the World Affairs Council, for calling on IGNITE to do this work with this very important delegation. A big thank you to our WAC representative Taylor Timinsky, who set it all up and made the day so special for us. Thank you to all of the State Department representatives who attended and help these delegations with their visits. And thank you to Bill St. John for taking the photos for us.
