WHY AM I INVOLVED WITH IGNITE WORLDWIDE?
IGNITE has inspired me by being an advocate for girls in STEM starting at an early age, and for creating an environment and forum to get them excited about tech. There is so much opportunity in this field and it’s a great career option that is not pursued as much as it should be for women in general, and getting girls excited about it at an early age will help to change this.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE OUR WIDER COMMUNITY TO KNOW ABOUT IGNITE WORLDWIDE?
The wider community should know about IGNITE that it’s a great resource available to schools and the community to get more young women informed, engaged, and excited about STEM careers.
BIO
I currently serve as the IT Director serving the Merchandising and Co-op Brands business for REI, and have been with REI for three years. Prior to that, I spent 23 years with Walmart Technology in Bentonville, AR, in many roles, progressing from Software Engineer on to Project Manager and IT Leadership. REI has been the perfect career home for me, since I can combine both my love for the outdoors with my passion for building and delivering great technology solutions.
